Hazor: Gate wall building

The bulk of the stone used to construct the walls of the gate is uncut, and rocks of different sizes are fitted together to provide a strong but relatively inexpensive wall. The center of the wall (between the two outer "skins") is less carefully constructed and often seems to have been filled with earth and rubble.
